Role Overview

Omnissa is hiring a Staff Engineer – .NET Developer with Apple ecosystem expertise to help design and evolve the next generation of its Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building high-scale distributed systems for managing millions of Apple devices securely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is passionate about system architecture, large-scale cloud platforms, and mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture

  • Architect and design backend services powering the UEM platform.
  • Build scalable systems supporting Apple device lifecycle management.
  • Guide long-term technical strategy and architectural evolution.

Apple Ecosystem Integration

  • Integrate backend services with Apple MDM infrastructure:
    • APNs (Apple Push Notification service)
    • DEP / ADE device enrollment
    • VPP / Apps & Books distribution
    • Declarative device management

Distributed Systems Engineering

  • Build high-throughput services handling millions of device events.
  • Implement event-driven pipelines using technologies such as Kafka.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and observability.

Security & Compliance

  • Design secure authentication and certificate management flows.
  • Implement compliance monitoring and policy enforcement.

Technical Leadership

  • Mentor senior and staff engineers.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and technical deep dives.
  • Influence engineering direction across multiple teams.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Engineering

  • Strong backend development experience.
  • Expertise in C#, Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.

Apple MDM Knowledge

Strong understanding of:

  • Apple MDM protocol
  • APNs integration
  • ADE / DEP device enrollment
  • VPP (Apps & Books)
  • MDM payload architecture

Cloud & Platform Engineering

  • Experience building systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • REST or gRPC API design.
  • Event streaming systems such as Kafka.

Security & Networking

  • Authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect)
  • Certificates and encryption
  • Networking and identity systems
  • Data privacy and compliance practices

System Design

  • High-availability architecture
  • Large-scale SaaS platforms
  • Performance optimization
  • Reliability engineering

AI & Innovation Leadership
