Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer – SME Level (Automation & Integration Lead) to support a large-scale federal IT modernization program. This leadership role will drive automation strategies, API integrations, and AI/ML engineering initiatives, ensuring seamless interoperability between enterprise systems and mission partners.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in enterprise IT environments, strong leadership capabilities, and hands-on expertise in cloud and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Automation, Integration, and AI/ML engineering team
  • Oversee API management, interface maintenance, and system integrations
  • Develop and execute test automation strategies
  • Monitor platform integration health and performance across environments
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and technical teams
  • Provide technical recommendations, risk assessments, and status updates
  • Establish best practices for automation, scalability, and system architecture
  • Support modernization initiatives using cloud and DevSecOps principles

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT environments
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Automation frameworks
    • API integration and enterprise interoperability
    • Cloud architecture and system design
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Certifications:
    • AWS Solutions Architect
    • CompTIA Security+

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or Department of Defense (DoD) programs
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML engineering
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern cloud platforms
  • Azure certifications
