About the Role

Akina is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to develop and maintain complex software systems involving advanced analytics, large-scale data processing, and real-time systems.

You will work independently and within a team to design, build, and enhance software solutions while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop, and enhance complex software systems.
• Write clean, scalable code in C++ and Python.
• Modify existing software to improve performance or add functionality.
• Integrate software into new or existing environments.

System Analysis

• Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Evaluate system flows, work processes, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with system and hardware engineers on project requirements.

Testing & Debugging

• Debug software and resolve defects.
• Develop and execute test procedures.
• Review and validate software against design specifications.

Architecture & Algorithms

• Implement advanced algorithms with strict timing and resource constraints.
• Design and maintain database interfaces and queries.
• Evaluate COTS/GOTS solutions vs custom development.

Leadership

• Provide guidance to development teams when required.
• Ensure development follows approved processes and standards.
• Contribute to improving development practices and documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong development experience in C++ and Python
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Experience developing complex, performance-driven systems
• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
• Experience with RF systems

Qualifications

• 14+ years of Software Engineering experience in similar programs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  (or 4 additional years of experience in place of degree)
