Role Overview

VetsEZ is looking for a Senior Java Developer to work remotely as part of a development team. The candidate will design, develop, and maintain web applications in an Agile environment, supporting both new implementations and enterprise-level releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and participate in coding activities.
  • Collaborate with development and production support teams to ensure application stability.
  • Provide updates to project managers and technical leads.
  • Contribute to architecture enhancements, enterprise, and maintenance releases.
  • Engage with business owners and external team members to explain new functionalities.
  • Document development processes to support ongoing and future projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in Java 8/11+, Spring/Spring Boot, JAXB framework, Spring Data.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB).
  • AWS Cloud services experience (Lambda, Elasticache, AmazonMQ, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Git/GitHub/GitLab.
  • Knowledge of REST, SOAP, JMS, ActiveMQ, HL7, FHIR, XML, XSLT, JSON.
  • Experience with Fortify, SonarQube, Jenkins, Oracle WebLogic Server, Jetty Server, RHEL.

Additional / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with McAfee Web Gateway.
  • Node.js and Mulesoft experience.
  • Docker / Kubernetes experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
