About the Role

The Senior Director, Engineering will lead engineering strategy and execution to support the Design and Construction team in delivering innovative, high-quality data center projects. This leadership role focuses on advancing future-ready technologies — including liquid cooling, sustainability initiatives, and advanced power solutions — while ensuring alignment with company standards, budgets, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance for data center design and construction projects.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with consulting engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company standards and client requirements.
  • Oversee engineering standards, basis of design documentation, and owner-furnished equipment specifications.
  • Drive innovation in data center technologies including liquid-to-chip cooling and sustainable energy solutions.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, construction, operations, IT, DCIM, and security teams.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
  • Manage engineering budgets, capital costs, and resource allocation.
  • Support energy strategy initiatives and utility coordination efforts.
  • Participate in due diligence for new development opportunities.
  • Oversee QA/QC, commissioning alignment, and project documentation through IFC stages.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure design integrity and successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of electrical/mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership within data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong experience with design-build and design-assist delivery methods.
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems and working knowledge of BMS, EPMS, IT, security, and life safety systems.
  • Knowledge of utility infrastructure and substation coordination (preferred).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and executive-level stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Willingness to travel across North America.
  • U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship available).

Preferred Credentials

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a U.S. state (preferred).
  • Expertise in commissioning, QA/QC, and mission-critical infrastructure standards.
  • Experience with engineering design software and construction management platforms.
