Overview

The Data Science and Engineering (DSE) team at Netflix leverages data, analytics, and scientific methods to enhance business performance across the organization. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Games DSE team, where you will lead experimentation initiatives and advanced analytics to support game development and strategy.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with game studio stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions through predictive modeling, experimentation, and statistical analysis. You will also play a key role in communicating insights that influence product and business strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with stakeholders across Netflix Games (development teams, strategy, planning, and analytics) on advanced analytical initiatives such as predictive modeling, causal inference, and experimentation.
  • Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of experiments to guide decision-making.
  • Conduct proactive data exploration to identify innovation and testing opportunities.
  • Drive high-impact projects end-to-end, from problem definition to delivery.
  • Present research findings and actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Translate complex analyses into business decisions that create measurable impact.
  • Balance ad hoc analysis requests while advancing strategic initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in the gaming industry as a Data Scientist.
  • PhD with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 8+ years in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • A/B testing and experimentation
    • Observational data analysis
    • Statistical modeling
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, or R for large-scale data analysis.
  • Strong product and business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into data science solutions.
  • Bias toward action with iterative problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and manage stakeholder priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.

Compensation

Netflix offers a unique compensation model consisting solely of annual salary and stock options, with flexibility for employees to choose their preferred mix.

Salary Range: $170,000 – $720,000 annually
Compensation is determined based on market benchmarks, role scope, and individual experience.
