Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (2:30pm – 11:00pm)

Location: Rincon/Valley Center, CA

SUMMARY

Responsible for surveillance and protection of the Rincon facility. Monitors and protects industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties. Must be able to work 2:30pm – 11:00pm Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of IHC property.

2. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.

3. Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and reports to the proper authorities, persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

4. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if malfunction or tampering has occurred.

5. Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.

6. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.

7. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

8. Permits authorized persons to enter property.

9. Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.

10. Writes incident reports, route logs and inspection logs.

11. Performs janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.

12. Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL & DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Travel and driving are not required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED
• Some college preferred
• 1-year experience required
• 3+ years’ experience surveilling and protecting in healthcare setting preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS
• California Guard card.
• A valid California driver’s license and a good driving record will be required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Current CPR certification or attain within 6 months of hire.
• Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or x-ray and urine drug screen test to include marijuana. Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination.
• Must pass criminal background check.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Must be proficient in the following:
• Productivity Software: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams (messaging, virtual meetings, file sharing) and Share Point.
• Utilization of Paycom, Relias Learning and PolicyTech systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of security and surveillance best practices.
• Knowledge of healthcare facilities and tribal communities.
• Skilled in investigative procedures.
• Skilled in completing reports and keeping data logs.
• Ability to observe suspicious or abnormal activity.
