About the Role

IdeaCrew is looking for a talented Ruby on Rails Developer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will help build modern web applications, APIs, and healthcare technology solutions that improve how organizations deliver services.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts, architects, UI designers, analysts, and other engineers to design and implement scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for web applications, APIs, and EDI systems
  • Translate functional requirements into use cases and development estimates
  • Write clean, maintainable object-oriented Ruby on Rails code
  • Develop software components and modules aligned with project specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical and business goals
  • Evaluate third-party tools and technologies for integration
  • Implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and test-first methodologies
  • Participate in product and UI discussions
  • Document development processes and create testing plans
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Provide support for application-related problems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development practices
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks and front-end technologies
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle
  • Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with RSpec, Git, and Capistrano
  • Knowledge of Angular, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or CouchDB
  • Experience with SOA and web service architecture
  • Deploying applications on Linux environments
  • Experience with XML, XSD, JSON APIs
  • Messaging technologies such as AMQP or JMS
