We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic oncology team in Charlotte, NC. This position offers a unique opportunity for qualified international candidates, as visa sponsorship is available. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of cancer patients through precise and empathetic radiation therapy. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be an integral part of our oncology team, working with advanced technology to administer radiation treatments under the prescription and supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful treatment outcomes and comfort of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
• Accurately interpret and implement treatment plans as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Safely and effectively operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment.
• Position patients for treatment with a high degree of accuracy, utilizing immobilization devices and imaging techniques.
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment parameters.
• Maintain accurate and thorough treatment records, documenting all aspects of patient care.
• Monitor patients during treatment for adverse reactions and provide immediate assistance as needed.
• Provide comprehensive patient education regarding treatment procedures, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
• Collaborate effectively with physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and physicians to ensure coordinated and optimal patient care.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)).
• Active or eligible for North Carolina state licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Proficiency in operating various radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment.
• Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and sensitivity in patient interactions.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
• Previous experience in a large academic medical center or comprehensive cancer center.
• Experience with specific advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, Brachytherapy).
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic.
