As a Product Application Engineer focused on Data Center Deployment, you will play a critical role in enabling customers to successfully deploy large-scale accelerator-based solutions powered by next-generation GPU and CPU platforms.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing role working across virtualization, networking, distributed systems, and AI/ML infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and deployment success.
The Role
You will support enterprise and cloud customers deploying AMD data center technologies, collaborating closely with engineering teams to validate performance, troubleshoot complex environments, and drive successful implementation of high-performance computing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot virtualization solutions for high-performance data center GPU and CPU platforms.
- Support AI/ML workload deployments across virtualization environments.
- Work with virtualization platforms such as KVM, Kubernetes, VMware, and Hyper-V.
- Build and configure networking environments for testing, validation, and deployment.
- Evaluate new virtualization capabilities and align them with customer requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve hardware and software issues from bring-up through lifecycle.
- Document and escalate technical challenges using established processes.
- Partner with program managers to maintain schedules and deliverables.
- Communicate technical status clearly to leadership and customers.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable engineering improvements.
- Travel up to 20% for customer deployments and technical engagements.
Preferred Experience
- Data center or virtualization-focused customer support environments.
- Virtual platforms (VMware, Citrix, KVM, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Storage technologies (Weka, DDN, VAST) and network optimization.
- Linux installation, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Server architecture, remote management, and networking topologies.
- GPU computing stacks such as ROCm™ or CUDA.
- High-performance networking (RDMA/RoCE, InfiniBand).
- AI/ML frameworks and workloads.
- Site reliability engineering principles.
- Tools such as Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in Kubernetes, VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, KVM, Hyper-V, or networking/storage technologies are advantageous.
