If you’re looking to make an impact while connecting cultures, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

The initial role for our Local Coordinators is seeking host families in their areas. You would be trained on how to do this!

Once you have a family interested, you have access to a master list of students in our program. We have students from all over the world, including China, Thailand, S. Korea, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Brazil, Finland, Austria, Australia, and more. You would then help match a student with a family based on their family dynamics and interests. To complete a placement, you do 5 main things:

1. Send a link to the host family so they can begin their online profile.

2. Make sure they submit a criminal background check (through the profile link you sent).

3. Check 3 references (also in the profile link you sent).

4. Interview the host family in their home, making sure it is suitable for a student.

5. Get school acceptance. (a signature from the principal or school official).

And that’s it! You are paid per placement made.

Placements

1,2 3 are $500 each

4,5,6 are $600 each

7,8,9 are $800 each

10 or more is $1000 each.

Once your students all arrive, you are also paid for supervising them. Students arrive in August for the full school year, and some arrive in January for just the spring semester. Supervision consists of checking in with the student and the host family in person at least every other month and checking in with the student/family in the months in between. This can be done with a simple phone call. If there are ever any issues or questions that arise with the student or host family, you would report it to CETUSA through the student’s virtual file, which alerts our student services team. Then they will assist with issues or questions. They also help with smaller issues such as homesickness, not keeping their room clean, etc.

Supervision pays $60/month, per student. If you are supervising 10 students, you are getting $600/month for supervision. This is on top of any additional placements you are making each month with the placement payment.

CETUSA also offers travel incentives! You will earn 1 travel point for each placement you make. Once you accumulate 12 points, you earn a free trip, which we take every fall. If you earn 6 additional points, you get to take a guest along for free. Where do we go?

2024: Caribbean Cruise

2023- Ecuador

2022-Italy

2014-Ecuador

If you don’t earn enough points in one year or don’t want to go on the trip that particular year, your points do roll over each year as long as you make 2 placements a year.

If you place 5 students by May 31st you get a ticket to go to our local coordinator conference!

2026 will be in Dominican Republic

2025 was in Mazatlán

2024 was in Costa Rica

2023 was in Cancun
