Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in Java-based microservices, system design, and Agile delivery. This role requires hands-on development, architectural leadership, and the ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges in a global delivery environment.

The ideal candidate will be Java-heavy (≈70%) with frontend exposure (≈30%) in React or Angular, and will actively contribute to design decisions, sprint planning, and resolving technical blockers.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

  • Lead design and architecture reviews for enterprise applications.
  • Apply object-oriented design principles and design patterns to build scalable solutions.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
  • Create reusable, general-purpose modules and components.

Backend Development

  • Design and develop Java 8 / Spring Boot microservices.
  • Build and maintain RESTful web services.
  • Work with SQL databases, preferably Oracle.
  • Apply TDD practices and write robust unit tests.

Frontend Collaboration

  • Contribute to UI development using React JS or Angular (supporting role).
  • Collaborate closely with frontend teams for seamless integration.

DevOps & Cloud

  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and container management tools.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Use source control tools such as Bitbucket.
  • Follow DevOps best practices throughout the SDLC.

Agile Leadership

  • Act as a Dev Lead, supporting sprint planning, daily standups, and scrum-of-scrums.
  • Resolve technical blockers and guide teams toward delivery goals.
  • Work effectively in a global delivery model.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in software development lifecycle with strong exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and architecture reviews.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Java 8
    • Spring Boot
    • Microservices architecture
    • REST APIs
    • SQL databases (Oracle preferred – 3+ years)
  • 8+ years experience applying design patterns and OOP concepts.
  • Proven experience with source control & build tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins) across multiple projects.
  • Solid understanding of TDD, unit testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed teams.
