About the Role
Truist is seeking a Java/Full-Stack Software Engineer III to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications and integrations. You will work on technically complex projects, participate in Agile development, and ensure high-quality production software that aligns with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend and frontend solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL, web services, and microservices.
- Lead moderately complex projects and contribute to larger initiatives.
- Conduct system integration, code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
- Provide escalated support for production applications and implement security controls.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders from design through delivery.
- Apply best practices for software design, data structures, algorithms, and SOA/Open API methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree + 6–10 years of experience, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of information systems and enterprise software best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree + 10+ years of experience (or equivalent).
- Experience in banking/financial services and enterprise-scale application development.
- Expertise in Java/J2EE/JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, OpenShift, SQL, web services, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of SOA/Open API architectures and building scalable applications from scratch.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with standard sitting/standing/walking requirements.
- Able to work overtime as required by business needs.
