Salary Range: $120,408 – $180,612
Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Travel: Minimal, up to 10%

About the Role

Truist is seeking a Java/Full-Stack Software Engineer III to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications and integrations. You will work on technically complex projects, participate in Agile development, and ensure high-quality production software that aligns with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend and frontend solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL, web services, and microservices.
  • Lead moderately complex projects and contribute to larger initiatives.
  • Conduct system integration, code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
  • Provide escalated support for production applications and implement security controls.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders from design through delivery.
  • Apply best practices for software design, data structures, algorithms, and SOA/Open API methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 6–10 years of experience, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of information systems and enterprise software best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree + 10+ years of experience (or equivalent).
  • Experience in banking/financial services and enterprise-scale application development.
  • Expertise in Java/J2EE/JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, OpenShift, SQL, web services, and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of SOA/Open API architectures and building scalable applications from scratch.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with standard sitting/standing/walking requirements.
  • Able to work overtime as required by business needs.
