Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal (Electrical/Computer Engineering) – Los Angeles

Job Description

Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw 100 firm seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal to support its Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Practice Group. This is a hybrid role, with a preferred location in San Francisco, but candidates may also work from any office in the Pacific or Arizona time zones (Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix).

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of IP experience supporting high-volume “Hard Science” portfolios, with strong knowledge of USPTO, PCT, and international patent rules and procedures. Responsibilities include managing global patent dockets, preparing and filing patent applications (Provisional, Non-Provisional, Track 1, Design, PCT, US National Stage, Convention Filings), maintaining client portfolios, reviewing USPTO/WIPO correspondence, preparing IDS charts, and coordinating multiple projects with attorneys and international counsel.

Candidates should have exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, proficiency in CPi software, ePCT, and Microsoft Office, and a Paralegal Certificate.

Compensation: $110,000–$150,000/year, plus comprehensive benefits.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule.
