Overview

Chewy is seeking an experienced Senior Technical SEO Manager to join its SEO team in Bellevue, WA, or Boston, MA. This is a high-impact role with full ownership of Technical SEO across Chewy’s global eCommerce platforms. As the dedicated leader for Technical SEO, you will define strategy, set aggressive goals, and execute improvements with strong support from Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and access to best-in-class SEO tools. This role is ideal for a data-driven, autonomous SEO leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for scaling SEO at the enterprise level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of Technical SEO experience preferred (minimum 5+ years with additional experience in Engineering, Product, Machine Learning, or Information Retrieval acceptable)
  • Experience working on global, enterprise-level eCommerce websites preferred
  • Expertise with Botify, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console
  • Deep knowledge of Technical SEO, including crawling, rendering, indexing, log file analysis, XML sitemaps, structured data, and performance optimization
  • Strong understanding of Google’s guidelines and spam policies
  • Proficiency with HTML, XML, JSON-LD, JavaScript, lazy-loading, and SPA environments
  • International SEO experience across multiple countries and languages preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and data presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global Technical SEO strategy across multiple countries and languages
  • Create Technical SEO roadmaps, set goals, and execute through engineering and partner teams
  • Build and manage an SEO A/B testing roadmap to improve performance and identify impactful SEO levers
  • Advise product and engineering teams to integrate SEO best practices into all new features
  • Develop and evangelize a Technical SEO playbook across Chewy’s product and engineering teams
  • Guide engineering teams to implement automated SEO testing for core functionality
  • Conduct log file analysis and partner with Security, Cloud Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to improve crawlability
  • Develop and scale internal linking strategies in collaboration with SEO, product, and engineering teams
  • Implement monitoring systems to detect and alert on SEO-impacting changes
  • Perform Technical SEO audits and continuously monitor Core Web Vitals and site health
