Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java Web Developer / Software Engineer to support the State’s Member Management Replacement Project and other enterprise initiatives. This role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting large-scale web-based distributed systems in a production support environment.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Java enterprise development, Apache Tapestry, EDI transactions, and modern web technologies, along with experience working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise-level web-based distributed systems
- Support and maintain applications within a production support environment
- Develop Java applications using industry-standard frameworks such as Spring
- Build responsive user interfaces using Web 2.0 technologies (AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery)
- Architect highly available and scalable systems
- Integrate services and APIs into system architecture
- Participate in full SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs, QA teams, and infrastructure teams
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and incremental deliverables
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience with Java development
- 7+ years of experience with Apache Tapestry
- 7+ years of experience with JavaScript and jQuery
- Strong experience with EDI transactions
- Experience with JDBC and database connectivity
- Experience designing enterprise distributed systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with UC4 (Automic Automation)
- Experience with ActiveMQ or messaging systems
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
- Experience with SQL databases and MongoDB
- Experience working with Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
- Knowledge of Spring Framework and enterprise Java architectures
