Role Overview

Visionist is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join a high-impact, mission-critical government program. You will work alongside analysts and engineers to design and implement specialized tools that directly enhance operational efficiency, workflow automation, and real-time mission outcomes.

This role blends systems design, backend & frontend development, DevOps, database management, and automation. You will take ownership of features from requirements through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across teams and technology stacks to deliver mission-critical software.
  • Gather requirements, improve existing tools, and automate internal workflows.
  • Develop robust solutions for project management, documentation, and configuration management.
  • Independently drive feature development, owning the entire development lifecycle.
  • Build custom workflows to track tasks, enforce internal processes, and optimize operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship required (green card holders not eligible).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or 16 years of relevant experience as an alternative.
  • 12 years of software development experience across the stack (frontend, middleware/API, backend, DevOps).
  • Proficiency with at least one frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Experience scripting and building services in Python.
  • Experience developing RESTful web applications using Spring Boot and Python.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, SQLite, etc.).
  • CI/CD experience, preferably GitLab.
  • Strong technology flexibility and willingness to adapt to project needs.

Salary Range: $170,000 – $240,000
