Job Description

Chronosphere, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer – Frontend to lead the evolution of developer experience across its platform.

In this role, you will architect and build scalable frontend systems, improve tooling, and create intuitive developer workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and design teams to deliver seamless, high-performance user interfaces.

This is a strategic, high-impact position where your work will directly influence how developers interact with complex observability tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable frontend architecture
• Improve developer workflows, tooling, and internal platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams
• Drive best practices in frontend engineering and code quality
• Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers
• Optimize performance, accessibility, and usability of applications
• Contribute to technical strategy and long-term roadmap

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, etc.)
• Deep understanding of developer experience (DX) principles
• Experience building scalable and maintainable frontend architectures
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills
• Experience working in cloud-native or SaaS environments
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
