WMATA is seeking a Front-End Web Application Developer to design, develop, and support complex enterprise projects. The ideal candidate will analyze customer requirements, provide effective solutions, and contribute to the enhancement of WMATA’s systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, apply, and support complex enterprise projects.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Interface with other offices, consult with user departments, and resolve system problems or operational difficulties.
  • Participate in problem resolution related to system design and review.
  • Recommend approval of functional and technical design documents, and implement system enhancements and updates.
  • Analyze and evaluate system changes for feasibility, alternative solutions, and backup procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of new systems, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring compliance with approved standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power Suite Web applications development.
  • Strong experience with front-end programming languages, frameworks, and tools, including Angular, React, Vue, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bootstrap, JSON, YAML.
  • Proficiency in software development and project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of evaluation, selection, development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of systems software and hardware.
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in diversified technical information systems and data processing management.
  • Familiarity with multi-tiered applications: web services, APIs, clustered environments, database servers, application servers, and report servers.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using JIRA, Confluence, and GIT.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
