About the Role
As an Experienced Software Engineer within JPMorgan Chase’s Global Technology team, you will work in agile teams to design and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance technology products. Projects may involve mobile development, trading systems optimization, payments innovation, or cloud platform integration. You will contribute to architecture, coding, system design, and continuous improvement of software applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python.
- Troubleshoot and optimize applications for stability and security.
- Produce high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that interface with critical systems.
- Analyze and visualize large, diverse datasets to improve system performance.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
- Support a culture of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Java or Python programming.
- Experience maintaining code in large corporate environments with modern programming and database languages.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a discipline such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to modern front-end technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies.
Candidate Levels
- Software Engineer II: Understand advanced features of a language, design viable systems, solve functional problems.
- Software Engineer III: Independently design systems across technologies, solve functional/non-functional problems, guide others, and propose innovative solutions.
