About the Role

As an Engineering Operations Technician (Mechanical), you will support mission-critical data center operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs on mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems. This role is part of the Critical & Technical Services function, focused on maintaining high-availability environments for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of mechanical and engineering systems including UPS, ATS, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and PDUs.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms or emergency conditions.
  • Support HVAC troubleshooting and ensure optimal environmental conditions within the data center.
  • Perform facility walkthroughs and collect operational readings from equipment and utilities.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify equipment faults, perform repairs, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Follow all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities engineering.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, data centers, or critical environments.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment such as UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH systems, chillers, and PDUs.
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in data center or mission-critical facility operations.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
