Job Description

I’m building multiple products under Break the Wheel.

I’m a data scientist by background, and I want to collaborate closely with engineers to launch projects together — with the long-term goal of you potentially taking ownership of them.

There are multiple initiatives, so I’m looking to work with several strong engineers.

This will begin as hourly contract work, starting with one project. If we work well together, this can evolve into a larger role.

🚨 Mission-Critical Requirements

There are four non-negotiables:

1️⃣ You Use AI in Coding

You actively integrate AI into your workflow:

  • Copilot / Cursor / ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini
  • AI-assisted debugging
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Structured prompting
  • AI code reviews

If you don’t already code with AI fluently, this role isn’t a fit.

2️⃣ Excellent English & Communication

  • Clear written communication
  • Clear technical explanation
  • Proactive updates
  • No ambiguity

We’ll be building quickly. Communication must be frictionless.

3️⃣ Natural Problem Solver

You don’t wait for instructions.

You:

  • Anticipate edge cases
  • Think through architecture
  • Consider scalability
  • Identify risks before they appear
  • Fill in gaps without being told

I should not have to “project manage” you.

4️⃣ Exceptional Attention to Detail

  • Clean commits
  • Structured repos
  • Thoughtful naming conventions
  • Edge case coverage
  • No sloppy bugs
  • Production-ready thinking

I don’t want to check your work — I want to trust it.

You’ll also help me level up in what I call “vibe coding” — leveraging AI to dramatically accelerate product development.

🛠 Ideal Technical Background

Not stack-restricted, but strong candidates typically have experience in:

  • Full-stack web apps
  • Modern JS/TS frameworks (Next.js, React, etc.)
  • Backend architecture
  • API integrations
  • AI APIs
  • Database design
  • DevOps basics

If you’ve built and shipped real products before, that’s a big plus.
