Your Responsibilities

As an entry-level Embedded Software Engineer, for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale), located in Urbandale, Iowa you will be:
• You will participate on a team designing, developing, and delivering high quality, secure, and innovative solutions that enable global telematics. This position is open to remote work.
• Perform basic product design, development, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project.
• Operate in an Agile software development team, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
• Develop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by technical leads before implementation.

What Skills You Need
• Experience with software product development through practical work experiences, relevant internships, or academic experience
• Experience working with C++ or other Object-oriented languages
• Experience in roles that required demonstration of excellent communication skills
• A passion for learning and developing skills, trying new technologies, and solution-oriented thinking

What Makes You Stand Out
• Experience and expertise with C++ (including modern C++ syntax, patterns, practices)
• Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, CMake, etc.)
• Experience developing Linux software applications and APIs
• Experience or training with multi-threaded systems
• Experience with Wireless Communications (Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
• Experience with Agile software development processes

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering degrees disciple or equivalent experience – University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
