Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Operations and lead one of the most critical parts of the global cloud ecosystem. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing multiple data centers and ensuring 100% uptime across the cluster.
🚀 Role Overview
As a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Cluster Manager, you will lead facility managers, area managers, engineers, and technicians while overseeing mechanical and electrical infrastructure across multiple sites in the Canton (JAN) region. You will be accountable for operational excellence, safety, reliability, and cost management at scale.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
• Lead, hire, and develop high-performing operations teams
• Manage multiple data center facilities and vendors
• Maintain 100% service uptime across the cluster
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, and controls systems (MEP)
• Drive energy efficiency and capacity planning initiatives
• Manage OPEX/CAPEX budgets and forecasting
• Coordinate with global AWS teams and leadership
• Own incident management, root cause analysis, and reporting
• Implement process improvements and operational standards
• Support construction, expansion, and staffing strategy
🧠 Basic Qualifications
✅ Bachelor’s in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field
✅ 2+ years management experience
✅ 4+ years contractor/vendor management in construction or facilities
✅ Strong knowledge of mission-critical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC, etc.)
✅ Experience building and leading technical teams
Preferred:
✔ Building codes (NFPA, NEC, OSHA, Life Safety)
✔ Large-scale operations or compute environments
✔ Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen methodologies
✔ Mission-critical operations ownership
💰 Compensation
💵 $137,900 – $229,100 per year
