Expedia Group is seeking a Data Scientist II to join the Marketing Analytics team, where you will deliver insights that shape how the company’s brands engage and reward loyal customers.
You will partner closely with Loyalty and Credit Card teams to develop data-driven strategies, leveraging experimentation, behavioral analysis, and advanced analytics to enhance customer engagement and program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced analytics, statistical methods, and big data techniques to support commercial decision-making.
- Translate complex business problems into structured analytical questions and select appropriate methodologies.
- Design and analyze A/B tests and develop alternative testing approaches when experimentation is not feasible.
- Conduct exploratory deep dives into customer and cardholder behavior to uncover actionable insights.
- Deliver clear storytelling and presentations that influence partners and senior leaders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive initiatives end-to-end.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Strategy, and other analytics teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in analytics or data science roles.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Python, R, or PySpark for data transformation, modeling, and visualization.
- Experience working with large datasets and modern analytics frameworks.
- Proven ability to communicate insights from complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
Compensation
- Austin / Seattle:
- Base range: $112,000 – $156,500
- Performance-based potential up to $179,000
Compensation varies based on location, skills, and experience.
