Job Description

Internship opportunity to work on advanced data science and machine learning projects at Centene, supporting health transformation for 28 million members.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:
• Develop and implement algorithms including classification, supervised and unsupervised learning, and neural networks.
• Build predictive models, optimize algorithms, and validate results.
• Work with large datasets using platforms like Databricks and Palantir.
• Perform feature engineering and create visualizations to communicate insights.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists and analysts.
• Research legal, regulatory, and industry topics within the functional area.
• Communicate project status and results to staff mentors and management.
• Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies.
• Comply with all policies and standards and perform other duties as assigned.

About You

The company is looking for:
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data science and machine learning, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification algorithms, and neural networks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent undergraduate coursework completed and currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited university or college in a related field through the internship period.

Compensation & Benefits
• Pay range: $21-30 per hour.
