About the position

Information Technology, Computer Systems and Application Development are core components of our business and key to our success as one of the world’s largest steel producers. Our IT organization ensures our systems are leading technology, innovative and supportive to meet the needs of our business. At U. S. Steel, you will enhance your knowledge and understanding of the IT field and the relationship between our operations and systems. We are looking for a candidate that would be able to start in February or Spring (April/May) 2025.

Requirements
• Enrolled in a data science, information technology, computer science, computer engineering degree program or related degree
• Exposure to programming languages (Python, Java and/or C#) and/or analytics dashboard tools such as Tableau
• Understanding of data models and SQL is a plus
• Exposure to data science tools and concepts (e.g., linear and logistic regression, tree-based modeling) is a plus
• Desire to learn new tools and platforms
• Innovative and analytical individual willing to dig into new concepts and accept new challenges
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and active listening skills
• Ability to build rapport and work well within a team-oriented environment
• Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree
• Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2025 and be in good academic standing
• Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Benefits
