About the Role

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to support mission-critical operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs within a data center environment.

This role is part of the Critical & Technical Services function, responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, and facility systems in high-availability client environments. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work within defined procedures under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Conduct daily inspections of mechanical, electrical, and engineering systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on equipment
  • Monitor environmental conditions to ensure a safe and compliant work environment
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete emergency repairs

Equipment Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Perform building walkthroughs and record readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities
  • Identify and resolve plant and facility faults and defects
  • Respond to HVAC-related issues and client requests
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and quality records

Vendor & Compliance Coordination

  • Work with third-party vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations
  • Report performance concerns to management when service levels are not met
  • Follow all company safety policies and regulatory standards

Operational Support

  • Complete assigned tasks according to established procedures
  • Participate in required technical training programs
  • Deliver work outputs under supervision with clearly defined processes

Required Qualifications

  • Technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or data center environments
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical capability to meet job demands

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Basic math and analytical ability
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
