Role Overview
AWS is hiring Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) to maintain and operate mission-critical infrastructure inside some of the world’s most advanced data centers. This role focuses on hands-on electrical and mechanical systems operations, ensuring 24/7 reliability and uptime.
You will work with front-line operations teams responsible for power, cooling, and safety systems that support global cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily facility rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
- Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS).
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level incidents within SLA requirements.
- Install and decommission server racks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), repairs, and root cause analysis.
- Support change management through technical documentation.
- Manage work requests from initiation to completion.
- Supervise contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with standards and safety regulations.
- Support multiple data center locations when required.
Equipment You’ll Work With
Electrical Systems:
- Diesel generators and fuel systems
- Switchgear, UPS, PDUs
- Wet cell batteries and 3-phase power systems
Mechanical Systems:
- CRAH/CRAHU units
- Chillers and cooling towers
- Pumps, motors, and air handling systems
Additional Systems:
- Fire protection and life safety systems
- Building automation systems
- General facility infrastructure
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of:
- Electrical OR mechanical experience
- Relevant technical work experience
- Microsoft Office usage
- Ability to work:
- Flexible shifts (days/nights/weekends)
- Physical environments (ladders, heights, confined spaces)
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years data center engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- Knowledge of:
- Network layouts and cabling (fiber/copper)
- Data center infrastructure operations
Salary & Locations
Hourly Pay: $37.00 – $65.00 USD
Locations include:
- Missouri (Nevada)
- Oregon (Boardman)
- Pennsylvania (Berwick, Fairless Hills)
- Virginia (Manassas)
Additional compensation may include:
