Job Summary
The Critical Facilities Engineer is responsible for electrical or mechanical maintenance of data center infrastructure, site administration, and incident support. The role requires strong technical understanding of mission-critical systems and the ability to resolve complex operational issues while maintaining uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of critical facility components.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms per SOPs.
- Assist senior engineers with complex repairs and corrective maintenance.
- Operate plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems under supervision.
2. Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with service providers to ensure maintenance activities meet company standards.
- Support work order approvals and track vendor maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety standards.
3. Site Administration & Incident Support
- Maintain site logs and documentation such as Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs).
- Support administrative procedures and on-site incident handling.
4. Work Orders & Projects
- Complete routine work requests and circuit installations.
- Assist with troubleshooting auxiliary equipment and office systems when required.
- Support senior engineers during incidents and project execution.
5. Collaboration
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Assist in infrastructure improvement projects.
- Monitor spare inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in data center or mission-critical environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle operational responsibilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in electrical distribution, HVAC, UPS, generators, or cooling systems.
- Familiarity with BMS, fire systems, and safety compliance.
- Relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
