The Indian Community School (ICS) is seeking two Year-Round Cleaners. These are full-time positions working from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm on Monday through Friday. These positions would be reporting to the Lead Cleaner.

SUMMARY

Keeps Indian Community School building in clean and orderly condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, surfaces, trim, and metalwork.

Cleans offices, classrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, and other areas.

Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors.

Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.

Dusts furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.

Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

Empties and transports trash and waste to the disposal area for garbage pickup.

Cleans and Sanitizes restrooms.

Replenishes restroom supplies.

Assists with and sets up tables and chairs for events, conferences, rooms and meeting areas when needed.

Responds to requests for student accident clean-ups.

Actively participates in learning about American Indian culture, language, traditions, and the Seven Sacred Gifts.

Incorporates American Indian culture, language, traditions and the seven Sacred Gifts into the daily work.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Able to communicate clearly, understand, and follow instructions.

Previous general cleaning experience required.

High school diploma or GED; and one year of previous experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most work is performed in an indoor, climate controlled environment. Noise levels may reach high volumes at times. Some work may be performed outside in weather and at various field trip locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE

Full-time, Year-round Second Shift 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Variable hours when school is not in session. Regular attendance is essential to succeed in this role.

DRUG FREE WORKPLACE

Expected salary: $15.65 – 19.3 per hour
