As we enter an ambitious new chapter, we are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the charge in shaping Softronics’ future technical vision and execution. *U.S. Citizenship is required

Position Summary

The Chief Engineer will serve as the technical leader of Softronics Ltd., providing oversight and direction across all engineering functions. This individual will play a central role in evolving our technology portfolio, ensuring technical excellence, and guiding multidisciplinary teams through concept development, system design, and product delivery.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role—ideal for a forward-thinking engineering executive who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, planning, and customer-facing skills. The ideal candidate brings a track record of innovation, execution, and team development within RF/microwave, electronic warfare, or communications systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Technical Leadership: Define and drive the company’s technology vision, ensuring innovation and alignment with customer and mission requirements.
• Engineering Oversight: Lead and mentor a technical staff of ~25 engineers across multiple disciplines (RF, digital, embedded software, mechanical).
• Program Execution: Oversee engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle—from bid and proposal to design, integration, and production support.
• Solution Development: Formulate system-level solutions by integrating capabilities across RF/microwave, DSP, embedded control, mechanical design, and software domains.
• Customer Engagement: Represent Softronics in technical discussions with customers and partners, supporting proposal efforts and system architecture planning.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate program-level technical risks; ensure engineering rigor in meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Program Management, Operations, Finance, and Business Development to align engineering execution with company objectives
• Effectively interact with Engineering Developers, Program Management, Production Operations, Business Development, and Finance.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams and managing full product development lifecycles.
• Demonstrated success in US Government R&D project capture and execution—particularly in RF, electronic warfare, or communications systems.
• Deep expertise in designing RF/microwave systems including transmitters, receivers, power amplifiers, antennas, filters, and digital signal processing.
• Familiarity with Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies and software/hardware integration strategies.
• Understanding of relevant performance standards (e.g., MIL-STD, FAA, commercial).
• Proven leadership progression—from design engineer to engineering or program management.
• Strong planning, budgeting, and execution skills with a record of delivering high-performance systems on time and on budget.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for both internal and customer-facing engagements.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Attributes:
• Experience interfacing with U.S. DoD customers and understanding of military operational concepts.
• Demonstrated success in proposal development, technical strategy, and pursuit of new business.
• Systems-level thinking with the ability to unify hardware, software, and mechanical elements into coherent product solutions.
• Exposure to manufacturing, test, and quality assurance processes.
