Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chartered Accountant to join our finance team in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional looking to relocate to the United States, as we offer comprehensive visa sponsorship. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review complex financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax laws.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of internal controls and accounting policies.
Required Skills
• Chartered Accountant (CA) designation from a recognized accounting body.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving regulatory landscape.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the utilities, energy, or a similarly regulated industry.
• Public accounting experience (Big Four or regional firm).
• Familiarity with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Additional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
• Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
