Job Description

The Artificial Intelligence and Data team is looking for BI engineers with expert-level experience in developing enterprise software applications with good Teradata hands-on experience. You will be part of the team-building world one of the largest Teradata & Big Data Platform(s) that can ingest 100’s Terabytes of data that will be consumed for Business Analytics, Build curated Data products for various Verizon Business units. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building disruptive technology where the Teradata & Big Data combination will be used as a platform to build solutions for Analytics, Data Services and Solutions.Responsibilities:• Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project with high quality• Responsible for programming a component, developing features or frameworks• Work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across• Contribute to design discussions. for the BI Consumption Layer• Skilled in analyzing problem statements, breaking down problems• Ability to take ownership of small and medium-sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems. Desired Skills and Experience• Minimum 7 years of experience in Teradata Tools• Minimum 4 years on Linux or Unix developing processes & shell scripts• Minimum 4 years in DML Operation & SQL• Minimum 4 years Experience in Hadoop with Big Data )Google data Proc will be an advantage)• Minimum 2 years Experience in GCP BQ.• Empathizing and having a positive attitude is the most important skill• Able to work under minimal supervision. High energy, results-driven person with strong interpersonal skills• Bachelor/Masters’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field• Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using appropriate chosen language Nice to Have:• Hands-on experience (coding) in developing solutions on GCP/Spark/BigData/Hadoop• Experience with components in the Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Oozie, Sqoop, Zookeeper)• 2 years in a product management role with experience in data architecture preferred• Working experience with BI tools : Looker, Qlik, and Thoughtspot and custom integration• Demonstrated excellence in end-to-end data product development and product lifecycle management• Ability to weave together the governance and the management of data and established Data as Services & Products ready for consumption –Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the development process• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to face clients at many different levels (from C/VP to Engineer/Consultant)
