Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with strong expertise in Java-based enterprise Android applications to support the migration of existing applications from Android 11 to Android 14.

This role focuses on enterprise APK deployments outside the Play Store, where applications are distributed via internal systems, device management platforms, or system-level installations.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Android OS upgrades, system behavior changes, and enterprise deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Application Migration

  • Perform end-to-end migration of enterprise Android applications from Android 11 to Android 14.
  • Refactor and optimize legacy Java code to comply with new Android platform requirements.
  • Ensure compatibility with the latest Android security, privacy, and background execution policies.

Enterprise Deployment

  • Work with APK-based enterprise deployments outside the Google Play Store.
  • Handle installations through MDM / EMM platforms and enterprise distribution systems.
  • Manage device policies and system-level configurations.

System Compatibility

  • Address Android 14 behavior changes including:
    • Permission model updates
    • Background execution restrictions
    • Storage and package visibility rules
  • Ensure compatibility across OEM devices and custom ROM environments.

Testing & Debugging

  • Investigate OS-level issues involving:
    • Services
    • Broadcast receivers
    • Storage access
    • Package visibility
  • Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing after migration.
  • Document migration processes, risks, fixes, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Android application development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java for Android development.
  • Hands-on experience migrating applications between Android OS versions.
  • Solid understanding of Android system architecture and enterprise deployment methods.
  • Experience debugging OS-level Android issues.
  • Familiarity with MDM/EMM tools and enterprise device environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise mobility solutions.
  • Knowledge of Android security policies and privacy updates.
  • Experience working with OEM devices or custom Android builds.
