Job Overview

Android enterprise applications often require careful migration when operating system versions change. We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with strong Java-based Android development experience to migrate enterprise APK applications from Android 11 to Android 14.

This role focuses on enterprise and system-level deployments, not apps distributed through the Play Store. The developer will analyze legacy code, update compatibility with Android 14 changes, and ensure stable performance across enterprise devices and environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end migration of enterprise Android applications from Android 11 to Android 14
  • Work on Java-based APK applications deployed outside the Play Store
  • Review and refactor legacy code to comply with Android 14 behavior changes
  • Update permissions, security policies, and background execution rules
  • Manage device policies, system-level configurations, and enterprise deployment requirements
  • Ensure compatibility with OEM devices, MDM/EMM platforms, and custom ROMs
  • Debug OS-level issues related to services, broadcasts, storage, and package visibility
  • Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing after migration
  • Prepare technical documentation covering migration steps, risks, and fixes

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Android application development
  • Strong proficiency in Java for Android development
  • Proven experience migrating applications between Android OS versions
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Android permissions and security updates
    • Background execution limits
    • System-level Android behavior
    • Enterprise device deployments
