AI & Data Science Intern

Job Description

Internship opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI & Data Science within the banking industry through a 9-week program at Valley.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting your manager in research and analysis on specific topics.
• Independently completing tasks contributing to larger projects relevant to the assigned department.
• Participating in meetings and team discussions to gain insight and contribute to team goals.
• Communicating with team members and other departments to coordinate work and develop final work products.
• Joining team building activities to establish cross-functional relationships within the Valley community.
• Participating in VIP Mentorship Program meetings to enhance business acumen, network with senior leaders, and develop technical and professional skills.
• Documenting and reporting on progress and results of projects and tasks.
• Attending professional development sessions and classes.
• Participating in VIP-hosted events, trainings, and projects including Valley Week of Service, Culture Workshops, and final project presentations.
• Completing other related duties as assigned by the manager.
• Following company policies and procedures.

About You

The company is looking for:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Motivated self-starter.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Rising sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student currently enrolled in a college or university program.

Compensation & Benefits
• Pay range: $20.10 – $33.37 per hour.

Training & Development
• Participation in VIP Mentorship Program to develop business acumen and professional skills.
• Attendance at professional development sessions and classes.
• Engagement in team building activities and VIP-hosted events including Valley Week of Service and Culture Workshops.
