About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is seeking Logistics Specialists to join our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This entry-level, 12-month program provides hands-on training and work experience in logistics operations at AWS data centers. Trainees will gain expertise in supply chain management, inventory control, vendor coordination, and operational excellence.
You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, operations managers, and security experts to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency while ensuring AWS customers have continual access to our cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to manage logistics operations.
- Ensure accurate billing and documentation for inventory and supply chain transactions.
- Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange shipments of materials and merchandise.
- Support scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups at production and data center locations.
- Maintain precise inventory records and track part locations, movement, age, and returns.
- Interface with Procurement and Hardware Engineering for purchases and vendor RMAs.
- Complete the 12-month WBLP training curriculum, including safety certifications and technical competencies.
- Operate powered equipment (forklift, cherry picker) safely when required.
- Travel within the regional work area using a personal vehicle.
- Work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
A Day in the Life
A Logistics Specialist ensures proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities in AWS Data Centers. You will collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians, Engineers, and Procurement teams to fulfill parts efficiently, track inventory, and resolve vendor issues. Strong organizational skills, communication, and problem-solving are critical to success in this role.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- STEM coursework or vocational training.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and inventory management.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift/move up to 40 lbs; group lifts for heavier items.
- Work in elevated, noisy, or cramped environments.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking up to 8+ hours/day.
- Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
- Tolerance for non-climate-controlled environments.

Compensation
- $20.00 – $36.00 USD/hour, depending on location and experience.
