We are seeking an experienced and motivated WordPress Developer with both front-end and back-end expertise to join our team as a lead developer. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, content developers, and other developers to build responsive, media/news-focused websites that deliver high performance, great UX, and SEO-optimized solutions.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new WordPress themes, page templates, and plugins from scratch and modify existing ones
  • Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules with dynamic content and personalization features
  • Integrate a wide range of WordPress plugins, APIs, and third-party apps (e.g., Eloqua)
  • Manage back-end services, including server-side logic and database integration
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and responsiveness of websites
  • Implement front-end development for digital marketing communications: websites, landing pages, micro-sites, emails, and campaigns
  • Test and troubleshoot across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including mobile and tablet
  • Provide guidance on SEO best practices for website development
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies for effective platform integration

✅ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a web developer with WordPress expertise
  • Experience creating and integrating custom WordPress plugins, themes, and working with hooks & filters
  • Strong mobile-first development skills
  • Proficiency in PHP web frameworks and understanding PHP limitations/workarounds
  • Knowledge of common web security exploits and mitigation strategies
  • Front-end development skills: HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap)
  • Experience with ad technologies (Prebid, DFPP) is a plus
  • Familiarity with web usability, accessibility, and analytics
  • Experience with other development languages (Java or Python) is advantageous
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git or Subversion)
