Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer with expertise in WordPress and PHP to join our team remotely. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing websites and web applications while ensuring performance, security, and responsiveness.

This is a fully remote role, ideal for candidates who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoy building high-quality WordPress solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and themes.
  • Write clean, modular, and reusable PHP code.
  • Implement and customize plugins as needed.
  • Collaborate with designers and project managers to deliver responsive, user-friendly web pages.
  • Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues across front-end and back-end code.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and web services when required.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design for multiple devices.
  • Maintain version control with Git or similar systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress, PHP, and web development trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or similar is a plus.
  • Experience with RESTful API integration.
  • Familiarity with website performance optimization, security best practices, and SEO principles.
  • Version control experience (Git/GitHub) and basic deployment workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other CMS platforms like Drupal, Joomla, or Magento.
  • Exposure to WooCommerce or e-commerce WordPress projects.
  • Understanding of server environments (cPanel, Plesk, or Linux hosting).
