About the Role
We are seeking a Web Developer to collaborate with project teams to design, build, and maintain interactive web applications supporting research initiatives. The ideal candidate enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, favors iterative development approaches, and is eager to learn and advocate for new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and implement web applications.
- Create wireframes or mockups for web applications and key features.
- Build complex, flexible, cross-browser compatible front-end applications using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
- Access and integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Commit to high standards of code quality and participate in quality initiatives.
- Research, recommend, and apply new methodologies or technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field + 1 year experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years experience, or
- Associate’s degree + 4 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience developing interactive web applications.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript, and web development tools (npm, jQuery, Bootstrap, or equivalent).
- Experience with responsive design and UI/UX prototyping/wireframing tools.
- Experience with object-oriented programming (C# or Java).
- Client-focused development experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SCSS/SASS.
- Knowledge of RESTful Web Services.
