Overview
Our client is seeking two experienced .NET Web Developer II professionals to join their team. You will work primarily on high-profile web applications for the Child Care and Child Welfare (CCCW) section of DCF, including MVC 8 web apps, Blazor, Kendo UI components, and modernized applications migrated from legacy mainframes.
This role requires strong full-stack development experience, proficiency in SQL, and familiarity with secure authentication flows (OIDC/Okta). Candidates must be highly skilled in designing, developing, and supporting both front-end and back-end web applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using C# .NET (MVC or Blazor) and JavaScript.
- Write custom SQL queries and optimize database performance (SQL Server, DB2).
- Participate in interactive code reviews, TDD (Test Driven Development), and SDLC best practices.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization techniques, including OIDC/Okta flows.
- Develop responsive front-end applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Kendo UI.
- Modernize legacy applications, including mainframe COBOL to web-based solutions.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address security threats.
- Document technical requirements, design patterns, and development processes.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience with C# .NET (MVC or Blazor), Full Stack development, and SQL.
- Strong experience writing custom SQL queries for complex databases.
- Experience with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Kendo UI.
- Familiarity with TFS / Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, and version control practices.
- Knowledge of authentication & authorization protocols, secure coding practices.
- Experience with the full SDLC and agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing experience.
- Prior experience with Okta and OIDC implementations.
- DB2 Mainframe / COBOL modernization experience.
- Document generation tools (xPression, Crystal Reports, Adobe Experience Manager).
- MAUI or PWA mobile development experience.
- Front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or HTMX.
- IIS, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipeline knowledge.
- Familiarity with DCF applications or Wisconsin CARES systems.
