AutoMart is on a mission to become India’s largest non-inventory automotive e-commerce platform, connecting OEMs, distributors, wholesalers, and garages with efficient and scalable digital solutions. We are seeking a skilled PHP Web Developer to power our backend systems and ensure seamless operations across our platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using PHP (Laravel or CodeIgniter preferred).
  • Optimize and manage MySQL / MariaDB databases.
  • Create and integrate REST APIs for frontend and third-party services.
  • Implement payment gateway integrations (Razorpay, PayU, Paytm, etc.).
  • Manage core e-commerce workflows: cart, checkout, orders, returns, settlements.
  • Ensure backend security: SQL injection prevention, secure APIs, data protection.
  • Work on server management, hosting, and deployment (Linux/Apache/Nginx).
  • Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, and database queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, errors, and integration issues.
  • Maintain backend documentation for smooth knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product engineers, and marketing teams to align backend operations with business goals.

Core Technical Skills (Must Have)

  • Strong PHP knowledge (Laravel or CodeIgniter framework).
  • Proficient in MySQL / MariaDB database design and optimization.
  • Experience with REST API development and integration.
  • Understanding of server-side scripting, session management, and authentication.
  • Familiarity with payment gateway integration.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce workflows (products, inventory sync, order processing, returns).

Additional Technical Skills (Good to Have)

  • Basic JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery for backend-frontend coordination.
  • Experience with Linux server management (Apache/Nginx, cPanel, VPS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and version control (Git/GitHub).
  • Understanding of SEO-friendly backend structures.

Security & Performance

  • Implement secure coding practices (SQL injection prevention, CSRF, XSS protection).
  • Knowledge of caching and scalability solutions (Redis, Memcached).
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to coordinate with frontend, product, and marketing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical thinking.
  • Effective communication for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in fast-paced startup/e-commerce environments is a plus.
