Project Overview

We are building a web-based analytics platform for the trading card market, covering both sports cards and TCGs (Trading Card Games). The platform should resemble a clean, modern intelligence dashboard, providing insights into pricing, liquidity, market trends, and more.

Goal: Create a Trading Card Intelligence Dashboard that combines market data, analytics, and visual insights for collectors, investors, and enthusiasts.

Core Features & Requirements

Navigation & Layout

  • Left-side navigation panel with:
    • Dashboard
    • News Feed
    • Competitor Press Releases
    • Release Day Calendar
    • Pricing, Grading & Authentication
    • Valuation & Indices
    • National Card Show Calendar

Main Dashboard

  • Market KPIs: Price trends, liquidity metrics, and top movers
  • Interactive charts and tables summarizing key trading card data

Product-Level Pages

  • Individual card set pages (e.g., 2024 Topps Chrome, Pokémon 151)
  • Pricing history, sales volume, and chase card tracking

Player-Level Analytics

  • Player card price movements
  • PSA population growth tracking
  • Sales velocity and market trends

News & Alerts

  • Pull news from trusted sources
  • Custom alert notifications for key events or market changes

Search & Filtering

  • Search across sets, players, and individual cards
  • Filter by price, rarity, grading, and more

Optional / Alternate Approach

If building a full web platform isn’t feasible:

  • Create a comprehensive Excel database with all relevant data sources
  • Build visually appealing dashboards in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Maintain KPIs, charts, and market analytics in an interactive, semi-automated format

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience building data dashboards or analytics platforms
  • Strong front-end skills (React, Angular, or Vue.js preferred)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Chart.js, D3.js, Plotly, or similar)
  • Back-end/API experience (Node.js, Python/Django/Flask, or similar) for fetching and processing market data
  • Optional: Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets dashboards for alternate solutions
