Position Overview

At PNC, we believe our people are our greatest differentiator. As a Technology Engineer Sr in the Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) division, you will:

  • Lead and develop complex full-stack solutions with Java backend and Angular frontend.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Participate in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise applications aligned with business strategies.
  • Work independently on complex tasks, while supporting team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in designing, developing, and maintaining technology solutions for emerging platforms.
  • Build and enhance software components for web and enterprise applications.
  • Consult junior staff on best practices, design patterns, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure quality of project deliverables in alignment with standards and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve functional and technical issues.
  • Provide guidance in risk management and ensure solutions comply with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Required Skills & Expertise

Backend & API Development:

  • Java 8/17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA
  • REST APIs, Micro App Architecture
  • Oracle: DDL, DML, SQL Developer
  • NoSQL: MongoDB

Frontend Development:

  • Angular 16+, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Support for defect fixes and minor UI enhancements

Cloud & DevOps:

  • Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift concepts
  • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, uDeploy, Gradle, Helm
  • Understanding of micro frontend apps (bonus)

Other Tools & Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • IDEs: IntelliJ, Eclipse
  • Monitoring/debugging tools like Dynatrace, Checkmarks
  • Secure coding principles (OWASP), Bootstrap 3, Angular forms, shared components

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience with full-stack Java development
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior developers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture, emerging technologies, and machine learning (ML)

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • No specific certifications required, but industry-relevant certifications are a plus
