Position Overview

As a Technology Engineer Sr (Java Full Stack) within PNC’s Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) organization, you will design, develop, and maintain complex applications across the full stack. The role requires expertise in backend Java/API development and frontend support with Angular, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to innovative, scalable solutions.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality applications while supporting defects, UI enhancements, and emerging technologies within micro-app architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complex, high-impact software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
  • Design, build, and maintain technology solutions aligned with business strategies and objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers on best practices and coding standards.
  • Support frontend development and enhancements using Angular 16+, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Utilize microservices, micro-app architecture, and cloud-based technologies for application development.
  • Implement and support containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Perform code reviews, resolve functional and technical issues, and ensure quality compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with enterprise risk management and customer-focused goals.

Required Technical Skills

  • Backend: Java 8/17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Security, REST APIs, JPA, Oracle (DDL, DML, SQL Developer), NoSQL (MongoDB)
  • Frontend: Angular 16+, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • DevOps / CI/CD: Jenkins, uDeploy, Gradle, Helm, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift)
  • Architecture: Microservices, micro-apps, scalable application design

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with Harmony, Checkmarks, Dynatrace, or similar tools
  • Bootstrap 3.0 and Angular forms/components experience
  • Experience with micro-frontend development
  • Secure coding best practices (OWASP)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of industry-relevant full-stack development experience
  • Hands-on experience with backend Java and API development
  • Exposure to frontend frameworks and responsive design
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills
