About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to lead structural engineering projects and technical teams in the North Florida region. In this leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, and delivery of structural components for transportation infrastructure, including bridges, retaining walls, and related civil structures.

You will serve as a key point of contact for technical coordination, client engagement, quality assurance, and mentorship of engineering staff. The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural analysis and design, is proficient with FDOT standards, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight and leadership for structural design projects in the North Florida region
  • Oversee the preparation and review of structural calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Ensure compliance with FDOT, AASHTO, and local engineering standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD teams to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Lead quality control and assurance reviews for structural deliverables
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and career development support
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and public agencies to resolve technical challenges
  • Support business development through proposal preparation, client presentations, and strategic planning

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably with transportation infrastructure (bridges, culverts, highway structures)
  • Deep understanding of FDOT standards and experience working on FDOT-funded projects
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as LARSA, STAAD, LEAP Bridge, Mathcad, or SAP2000
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated success managing project teams and client relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Design-Build and/or CM/GC delivery methods
  • Active participation in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, FICE, SEI)
  • Knowledge of BIM workflows and digital collaboration platforms
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential
