Sr. Solutions Design Engineer – GES Operations Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Solutions Design Engineer to drive engineering excellence across our European fulfillment network. In this role, you will challenge existing processes, equipment, and facility layouts to design creative, scalable, and implementable solutions that improve safety, performance, and associate experience.

This position is ideal for a technically strong, self-driven engineer who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys influencing cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

What You’ll Do

Engineering Design & Innovation

• Own the design and development of engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges
• Lead concept and detailed design development for fulfillment center layouts
• Optimize material flow, equipment specification, ergonomics, and operational considerations
• Design solutions that balance human and equipment interactions

Project Leadership

• Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously
• Influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors
• Drive end-to-end project ownership from concept through implementation
• Conduct post-implementation reviews in partnership with Safety and Operations teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Start-up and Launch teams to ensure designs are thoroughly documented (layouts, modules, SOPs, change controls)
• Develop and update engineering design standards with global design teams
• Build strong relationships with Procurement, IT, Safety, Facilities, Change Management, and EU Operations

Basic Qualifications

• Experience as an Industrial, Operations, Manufacturing, or Project Engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills
• Ability to manage complex initiatives in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL
• Experience managing third-party vendors
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
• Additional language skills (French, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu)
