Salary Range: $90,000 – $157,500 annually
State Street’s Charles River Development (CRD) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of Charles River IMS modules. This role combines software development, problem-solving, and collaboration within agile Scrum teams in the financial services domain.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug medium to large software enhancements independently.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to translate business requirements into sustainable software.
- Provide thought leadership in product architecture and code design.
- Develop applications using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or related languages.
- Conduct unit and automation testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews and provide guidance to junior staff.
- Contribute to design documentation, API documentation, and customer-facing documentation.
- Actively engage in Scrum processes: daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in cross-team activities.
🔹 Required Experience & Skills
- 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- 4–7 years in financial services solutions (Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management preferred).
- Strong experience with object-oriented programming, relational databases, scripting, compilers/interpreters, and modern programming languages.
- Ability to contribute to complex design specifications and work independently on medium to large projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years working in an Agile development methodology environment.
🔹 Education & Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field required.
- M.S. degree strongly preferred.
