Job Title

Sr. Java Full Stack Developer

Location & Work Model

  • Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Hybrid)
  • Work Model: 2–3 days per week onsite, remaining days remote
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future

Experience Required

  • Professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Prior work on full-stack, API-driven, and microservices-based applications

Job Details / Description

As a Sr. Java Full Stack Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting critical insurance initiatives. You will collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on coding, problem-solving, and applying best practices in development, testing, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack application components using Java, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Participate in solution design discussions and assess technical feasibility.
  • Perform hands-on coding, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting for new development and production stability.
  • Collaborate with team members on application enhancements, system integrations, and performance improvements.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply best practices to improve code quality and development efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
  • Strong experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Experience with APIs, system integrations, and microservices-based applications.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, including SQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Liferay portal development.
  • Exposure to Control-M or other scheduling/orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Life & Annuities Insurance or other financial services systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments or containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Interest in continuous learning and exploring new technologies.
